Commands</A></H2> <P>You do most things in bash by issuing commands like <CODE>cp</CODE>. Most of these commands are small programs, though some, like <CODE>cd</CODE> are built into the shell. <P> <P>The commands come in packages, most of them from the Free Software Foundation (or GNU).
