In this Appendix, we are going to try to explain the relationship
between the RGB, CMYK, and HSV color systems so as to (hopefully) make
them more intuitive.  <A NAME="tex2html1795"
  HREF="http://gmt.soest.hawaii.edu"><B>GMT</B></A> allows users to specify colors in cpt
files in either of these three systems. Interpolation between colors is performed in either RGB or HSV, depending on the specification in the cpt file. Below, we will explain why this all matters.
