The expected order for embedded NICs is the order in which they are labeled on the server chassis and how the BIOS numbers them. The patch adds the two models to the list of devices for which bfsort is automatically chosen. It will only change the order on new RHEL installations, because once installed, the NICs are identified by their MAC addresses by the scripts and keep their names stable. The patch is in Linux 2.6.24-rc1. Tested with the 585 G2 by the reporter of the issue.
