<p>Normally you add a separator to the menus or widgets to which actions are added, so this function is very rarely needed.</p>
<p>For example, if you have code like</p>

<p>you can rewrite it as</p>
<pre> QAction *separator = new QAction(this);
 separator-&gt;setSeparator(true);
