Date: Mon, 25 Sep 2006 15:08:40 -0400 From: "John W. Linville" <linville@redhat.com> Subject: [rhel5 patch 1/2] e1000: update to 7.2.7-k2 Intel really wants their new Kirkwood adapters to be supported in RHEL5. The easiest path for base Kirkwood support is to take the 7.2.7-k2 version of e1000, which is currently queued for 2.6.19. BZ207776 Testing of FC6-based kernel w/ this patch by Intel w/ postive results. This patch is identical to what is currently queued for 2.6.19. drivers/net/e1000/e1000.h | 6 drivers/net/e1000/e1000_ethtool.c | 279 +++++---- drivers/net/e1000/e1000_hw.c | 1167 ++++++++++++++++++-------------------- drivers/net/e1000/e1000_hw.h | 26 drivers/net/e1000/e1000_main.c | 154 ++--- drivers/net/e1000/e1000_osdep.h | 19 drivers/net/e1000/e1000_param.c | 161 +++-- 7 files changed, 951 insertions(+), 861 deletions(-) --- linux-2.6.18.noarch/drivers/net/e1000/e1000_param.c.orig 2006-09-21 13:46:38.000000000 -0400 +++ linux-2.6.18.noarch/drivers/net/e1000/e1000_param.c 2006-09-21 13:46:38.000000000 -0400 @@ -324,7 +324,6 @@ DPRINTK(PROBE, NOTICE, "Warning: no configuration for board #%i\n", bd); DPRINTK(PROBE, NOTICE, "Using defaults for all values\n"); - bd = E1000_MAX_NIC; } { /* Transmit Descriptor Count */ @@ -342,9 +341,14 @@ opt.arg.r.max = mac_type < e1000_82544 ?
